Ghelijck de schone Son droocht d'ongebacken Pot:
Soo droocht het herte van de boosen. als haer Godt
Raet, Dat sij haer intijts tot hem souden bekeeren.
Sy Passen daer niet op willen Verhert niet leeren.
Sijn goetheijt Roeptse, en haer alle hulpe biedt,
En seijt, voorwaer De doot des sonders wil ick niet.
Ghij die door ongheloof Recht schuldich gaet verlooren,
Moet kennen, overtuijcht, Dat ghij noijt wilde hooren. translation

Comme les pots se sechent au soleil,
Aussi les cœurs des peruers s'endurcissent
Oyans la voix & le diuin conseil
De Dieu, qui veut qu'à luy se convertissent.
Il les appelle, & aneantissent
Tant qu'en eux est, de Dieu la verité.
Confessent donc maintenant, qu'ils perissent
Tresiustement par incredulité. translation

So the evildoer blocks his ears, although what God warns him against is true.
If, therefore, the impious collapses in horrid death, let him blame
