Dan volght D'ontrouwe Schaeuw het lichaem altijt naer.
Soo wt het gure Noort, of mottich West, comt drijven
Een Wolckje voor de Son, hij sal niet langer blijven.
Een schijn-vrient kaldt v nae de mont: houdt quaet voor goet
Maer oock niet langer Dan als ghij in weelde wroet.
Een trouw vrients waerdt is meer dan alle koninckrijcken.
Godts vrintschap heeft noch by al Desen niet te Lijcken. translation

Est le patron d'vun amy contrefaict.
Car le flateur a langue à tous accords,
Iusques au temps que son cas est parfaict.
Soit bien, soit mal, il tient tout pour bien faict.
